Technology is influencing brands to create more futuristic pieces of clothing and shoes. Nike’s latest creation Adapt BB is a step in the future of fashion technology.
We witnessed, ‘Project Jacquard’, a Google initiative that launched a smart denim jacket along with Levis. The piece was controlled through Bluetooth and made the jacket touch sensitive. Recently, it was reported in the Glossy that Alibaba had partnered up with Guess to revamp its customer and retail strategy by using AI (Artificial Intelligence) to incorporate an AI consumer-facing tool “Magic Mirrors”. In these tech based mirrors customer’s could see additional products from the store during their trial and get product recommendations.
Fashion, on the other hand, is also influencing technology by creating artistic prints on tech-products. Louis Vuitton and audio technology market recently partnered with airpods to launch customized prints that represent the brand on these earphones from Virgil Abloh’s debut collection. Another brand joining the tech-trend was fashion label Hermès where it introduced fashion and technology with ‘Men’s Universe’ a futuristic fashion forward theme which had a spacecraft setup in Shanghai last year.
The main motive behind the Nike Adapt BB shoe is to make it fit perfectly no matter what the situation you are in. The brand has always been on the forefront creating products that are specifically curated for the sports fraternity. This shoe by the sports brand will help players have a good grip while playing a sport. The shoe can lose grip to increase blood flow and tighten the grip to enhance the athlete’s performance. Sports personality, Jayson Tatum will be the first to wear the Nike Adapt BB.
