Ministry of External Affairs has decided to support the Ministry of Textile to promote Indian silk to a global scale. According to PTI, External Affair Minister Sushma Swaraj said:
“Silk is a strong commodity and there is a huge demand for it in the international markets. I assure you that the ministry of external affairs will become a facilitating ministry to take silk to global market.”
India is the second largest producer of silk in the world that employees around 9 million workers in India.
